Hier meine (vorläufige) Version einer Introduction zu einem Essay, den ich schreibe. Kommentare, Verbesserungsvorschläge, Grammatik, Wortwahl - bin für jegliche Tips dankbar!
==============================================
1. Introduction
Christopher Nolan's Memento (2000) is the adaptation of his brothers Jonathan Nolan's short story Memento Mori. At the Academy Awards in 2002 the brothers were nominated for „Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen“, additionally the film was nominated in the category „Best Editing“.
The plot is rather easy: a man suffering of short-term memory-loss tries to find the murderer of his wife to take revenge. The editing makes the film extraordinary: The story is told backwards (for this point see 2.1 Memento: The film). Though the film ends satisfyingly the complete story can only be revealed by additional consulting of the short story (see 2.2 Memento Mori: The short story) and the webpage (see 2.3 The webpage).
The story is rather difficult and taken into account that the German age rating is 16 years the presented topic can be used in a 10th grade Realschule at the earliest. Adult education could be another point of interest.
The aims of such a project could lead into various ways, from different ways of watching movies to interdisciplinary teaching (for details see 3.1 Ideas how to teach this film).
This essay tries to clarify the idea of the Memento-universe, offers ideas for teaching and is rounded up by worksheets on the film and worksheets on grammar of film in general. _________________ - = Meine Stadt = - <= Bitte klicken, brauche Einwohner |

1. Introduction
Christopher Nolan's Memento (2000) is the adaptation of his brother --0-- Jonathan Nolan's short story "Memento Mori". At the Academy Awards in 2002, the brothers were nominated for „Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen“ -- . -- Additionally --, -- the film was nominated in the category „Best Editing“.
The plot is rather easy ( simple ):-- A --man--,-- suffering of short-term memory-loss--,-- tries to find the murderer of his wife --in order --to take revenge. --It is --the editing --that --makes the film extraordinary: The story is told backwards (for this point see 2.1 Memento: The film). Though the film ends satisfyingly -- has a satisfying ( happy? ) ending--the complete story can only be revealed ( only reveals itself ) by additional consulting of -- also consulting -- the short story (see 2.2 Memento Mori: The short story) and the webpage (see 2.3 The webpage).
The story is rather difficult ( involved? complex?of an adult nature? ) and taken into account ( in view of the fact ) that the German age rating is 16 (years) the presented topic -- presented --can be used in a 10th grade Realschule ( level )at the earliest. Adult education could be another point of interest.
The aims ( purpose ) of such a project could lead into various ways ( could take on various forms ), from different ways of watching movies to interdisciplinary teaching (for details see 3.1 Ideas ( on ) how to teach this film).
This essay tries to clarify the idea of the Memento-universe, offers ideas for teaching and is rounded up ( supplemented ) by worksheets on the film and ( worksheets ?) on (the) grammar of film in general.
Note: I personally dislike the rather pompous concoction "additionally". Why not simply say "The film was also ..."

Ich sehe hier vom Englischen her keinen wesentlichen Unterschied. "Plot"
ist wohl ein bisschen "fachlicher" als "story", aber beide bezeichnen im Grunde dasselbe. Ich habe eigens in meinem Merriam Webster nachgesehen und Folgendes gefunden: "plot" -- The plan or main STORY of a literary work.
Von "falsch" kann also gar keine Rede sein. Nur nicht päpstlicher als der Papst sein -- der hat es schon schwer genug
