Ja, "bitch", ich dachte es mir schon.

Hier hab ich noch was: "but some of them look as though they may have bought the farm recently." --- Im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen, denen man ansieht, dass sie es nicht mehr lange machen werden.

Obwohl der Zusammenhang nicht ganz da ist, vermute ich, dass die mit der Farm vorhaben, noch lange zu leben. Bei uns sagt man nach einer ärztl. Untersuchung auch schon mal: "Wie sieht's aus, Herr Doktor? Kann ich mir noch 'ne Langspielplatte kaufen?"

Und noch eins: Was macht ein "Lineman", wenn er auf einem militärischen Flugplatz arbeitet? (Was die auf der Landstraße machen, ist mir klar).

Jobs and Salaries
5. Lineman work outdoors most of the time and handle hazardous materials. Most companies will hire someone with a high school diploma or GED and commercial driver's license. The average pay is between $11 and $20 per hour, with the higher wages paid at large commercial airports.
